水素エンジン船

　昨日と今日は全国の漁業関係者が燃料である石油の値上がりに補償を訴えて一斉にストライキに入ったようです。

　青み魚のEPAとかDHAと呼ばれるアルファ・リノレン酸は肉の脂より動脈硬化の進行を防いで体にいいとか、歳くって魚好きになって魚を動物性タンパクの摂取源としている身には人ごとではありません。

　でも、これは好機でもあるのです。重油に依存している漁業から別なエネルギーにする格好の機会なんではないでしょうか？　自動車は電気自動車が注目されています。舟も別なエネルギーにすればいい。

　例えば、水素です。水素エンジンです。何しろ舟は海に囲まれて浮かんでいるのですから、資源は無限です。海水から水素をどう取り出すのかはわかりませんが、淡水化装置もあることだし苛性ソーダをつくる副産物として水素が生まれるそうだから難しくはないんじゃないかな。分ったら、教えてください。
　
　クルマではBMWやマツダのロータリーなど水素エンジン車が実用化されています。水素を利用して走るクルマは、水素で発電して走る「燃料電池自動車」と水素そのものを燃料とする「水素エンジン車」の2種類があるそうです、詳しくはわかりませんが。

　山口県下関市の水産大学と同市内の日本海洋産業など船舶会社でつくる産学連携組織「水素エンジン船舶研究会」では舶用水素エンジンの実用化を進めています。既存の船舶用ガソリンエンジンとディーゼルエンジンを改造、燃料を水素で燃焼させるもので、「船外型10馬力と船内型20馬力の2機種で、06年の11月、海上運転を公開した」というサイトを発見しました。船舶では世界初の試みといいます。
